Numerology from your dateLive

Your life path number

Arithmetic on your birth date, reduced to a single digit. We hold back 11, 22 and 33 the way most modern systems hold them.

Your life path number

Each part of the date is reduced on its own before they are added. A flat digit sum would destroy any master number hiding inside the date, which is why the order matters.

The nine paths, and the three masters

Every date reduces to one of twelve results. Nine single digits, plus 11, 22 and 33. Modern systems hold those three back from the last reduction, because they read a doubled digit as the same trait under more pressure.

  • 1The initiator

Associated with independence and starting things rather than joining them.

  • 2The mediator

Associated with partnership, patience and reading a room.

  • 3The communicator

Associated with expression, humour and work that gets seen.

  • 4The builder

Associated with structure, method and finishing what was begun.

  • 5The changer

Associated with movement, variety and a low tolerance for routine.

  • 6The carer

Associated with family, responsibility and being the one people call.

  • 7The analyst

Associated with study, solitude and taking nothing on trust.

  • 8The organiser

Associated with authority, money and scale.

  • 9The humanitarian

Associated with service, endings and letting go.

  • 11Master 11

The 2 held unreduced — intuition and nervous energy in the same package.

  • 22Master 22

The 4 held unreduced — building at a scale bigger than yourself.

  • 33Master 33

The 6 held unreduced — care extended past the family to the group.

Worked through, by hand

An example, until you enter a date of your own. Take 29 November 1994. Reduce each part on its own first, then add what is left:

  1. Day29  →  2 + 9 = 11 (a master number, so it stops here)
  2. Month11
  3. Year1994  →  1 + 9 + 9 + 4 = 23  →  2 + 3 = 5
  4. Total11 + 11 + 5 = 27  →  2 + 7 = 9

Adding all eight digits straight through gives 9 as well here, but not always. A flat sum destroys any master number sitting inside the date. That is why the parts are reduced separately first. That order is the one real disagreement between numerology systems.

Method

This one isn't astronomy

Everything else on this site is computed from planetary positions. Numerology is a separate tradition with its own rules and no connection to the sky. It is arithmetic on the digits of a date. We include it because people look for it, and because it is cheap to do correctly. And we label it plainly, rather than imply the ephemeris had anything to do with it.

Books, because that is the only thing we are willing to earn from here. We do not link gemstones, yantras or pujas. Those are sold against the fear a page like this one can create, and not doing that is a promise made on the about page.
