Missing & repeated digits
LiveYour date on the magic square
The digits of your birth date dropped into the classic 3×3 square. It is the one where every row, column and diagonal sums to fifteen. What is missing is read as loudly as what repeats.

What each cell is held to govern
The positions never move. Only the counts do. Reading across, down or diagonally, the three cells in any line always sum to fifteen. That is the mathematical fact the tradition was built on top of.

How your date fills it
Every digit of the date is dropped into its own cell. Zeroes have no cell and are discarded, which is why a date like 03.10.2005 fills fewer squares than 27.11.1968.
- 27 · 11 · 1968 → digits 2 7 1 1 1 9 6 8
- 1 appears 3 times → repeated
- 2, 6, 7, 8, 9 appear once each
- 3, 4, 5 never appear → missing
Eight digits at most, nine cells. Gaps are arithmetically certain for every person alive.
Where the square comes from
The Lo Shu is the oldest recorded magic square, from Chinese tradition, and its mathematics are real. Every line of three sums to fifteen. Up to rotation and reflection, it is the only 3×3 square that does. The numerological reading laid over it — that a missing 4 means something about discipline — is a later overlay, and a much younger one.
Missing numbers are ordinary
A birth date supplies at most eight digits into nine cells, so gaps are certain. Someone will read an empty cell as a flaw to be corrected, with a stone, a yantra, a change of name. What they are selling you is the arithmetic of the calendar.
If you want to read further
Books, because that is the only thing we are willing to earn from here. We do not link gemstones, yantras or pujas. Those are sold against the fear a page like this one can create, and not doing that is a promise made on the about page.
