Vedic siderealLive

Your janam kundli, computed sidereally.

The same birth moment, read in the sidereal zodiac with the Lahiri ayanamsa. That is the standard across Vedic astrology. You get the nakshatra and pada for every body.

Generate your kundli

This kundli uses whole sign houses and the Lahiri ayanamsa. Both are the Vedic standard.

What the ayanamsa does

The sidereal zodiac is fixed to the stars; the tropical one is fixed to the equinox. The equinox drifts backwards through the constellations at about 50 arcseconds a year, so the two have pulled apart. The gap between them is the ayanamsa, and it currently sits near 24°.

We subtract it using the Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) definition, the Government of India standard. Every chart page shows the exact figure applied for your date, so nothing is hidden. That single subtraction is why a Western Sun in early Taurus becomes a Vedic Sun in late Aries.

Nakshatras and padas

The zodiac is also divided into 27 lunar mansions, each exactly 13°20′, and each split into four padas. Your Moon's nakshatra anchors Vimshottari dasha timing and Ashtakoota matching. So in Vedic practice it matters more than the Sun sign does.

The twelve rashis

Rashi is the Sanskrit name for a sign. Charts here print both names, so the same placement reads whichever way you are used to.

Whole sign houses

Vedic practice puts the whole sign containing the Ascendant as the first house. The next sign is the second, and so on. No unequal cusps. That is the default here. You can switch to equal or Porphyry to compare, though it is unusual for a kundli.

Books, because that is the only thing we are willing to earn from here. We do not link gemstones, yantras or pujas. Those are sold against the fear a page like this one can create, and not doing that is a promise made on the about page.
