What you can expect, and what you can’t.

1. Accepting these terms

By using this site you agree to what follows. If you disagree with any of it, please stop using the site. We may revise these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised version.

2. Who can use the site

You need to be old enough to agree to a contract where you live. In India that is 18. Elsewhere, your own country's law decides. If you are younger, use the site with a parent or guardian.

3. What we provide

AstroSiddhant computes astronomical positions and presents them in the conventions of Western and Vedic astrology. Every calculator is free to use, with no account and no payment.

Two separate claims are worth distinguishing, because we treat them very differently:

• The astronomy. Planetary positions are computed from a VSOP87 and Brown lunar ephemeris to roughly one arcminute. We test this against independent references and we will fix errors in it.
• The astrology. Signs, houses, aspects, nakshatras, dashas and matching scores are traditional interpretive systems. We implement them faithfully to their stated rules. We make no claim that they predict anything.

4. This is not professional advice

Nothing on this site is medical, psychological, legal, financial or relationship advice, and it is not a substitute for a qualified professional. Do not use it to decide whether to take medication, end a relationship, accept a job, make an investment, or delay treatment.

If you are struggling with your health or mental health, speak to a doctor. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency services or a helpline.

5. Accuracy, and its limits

Your chart is only as good as what you type. In particular the birth time drives everything: an hour’s error moves the Ascendant by roughly 15° and typically rearranges every house.

• Where your birth time is unknown we omit the Ascendant and houses rather than guessing them, and the page says so.
• For births in India before 1955 we flag that some cities kept local time rather than IST. We cannot resolve that from the record alone.
• Whole sign, equal, Porphyry and Placidus are all implemented. Placidus is undefined inside the polar circles and reports that rather than guessing.

We aim to be accurate and we publishour method and our tests so you can judge for yourself. We do not guarantee the site is uninterrupted or error-free.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Scrape, bulk-download or automate requests at a rate that degrades the service for others.
• Present output from this site as a professional consultation you are qualified to give.
• Use the site to harass, defraud or frighten anyone — including by weaponising a matching score against a person.
• Attempt to breach, probe or disrupt the infrastructure.
• Republish or resell the site's written explanations, design or code as your own. Your chart is yours. This is about the site around it.

7. Content and ownership

The site’s design, code and written explanations belong to us. Astronomical facts do not belong to anyone. A planet’s position is not copyrightable, and the chart we compute for you is yours to keep, share, print or publish as you wish.

8. Liability

The site is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of it. That includes decisions you take based on anything you read here.

This is not us hedging on the arithmetic — we will correct genuine calculation errors. It is a limit on responsibility for the choices people make afterwards, which we cannot see or control.

Every calculator here is free, so nothing has been paid to us and there is nothing to refund. Where the law allows a limit, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us for the service in question. Today that is nil. This does not remove any right you have under Indian consumer law that cannot be signed away.

9. Payments and refunds

Nothing on this site is paid yet. When one launches, the refund and cancellation terms for it are on a page of their own: Refund & cancellation policy.

10. Privacy

We do not store your birth details. Theprivacy policy explains exactly what happens to what you type, including the one caveat about birth details appearing in the page URL. It also covers the analytics cookies, and how to turn them off.

11. Changes to the service

Everything here is free today. We may add paid features later. We may also change or drop any part of the site. Nothing here promises a feature will still be here tomorrow.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts ofMumbai, Maharashtra have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
